SEANERGYS

Technologie:Supercomputing Forschungsbereich:Future Computing

SEANERGYS (Software for Efficient and Energy-Aware Supercomputers) is a software development project funded by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking.

SEANERGYS creates an integrated European software solution that optimises resource utilisation and reduces the energy used for real-world workload mixes. It therefore improves the throughput of HPC systems, generating more R&D results for a given energy budget. The solution consists of a comprehensive monitoring infrastructure (CMI), an Artificial Intelligence data analytics system (AIDAS), and a dynamic scheduling and resource management system (DSRM).

SEANERGYS builds on results from European R&D projects, the competency of well-established research groups and companies, and widely used open-source codes. The project is coordinated by the Forschungszentrum Jülich and brings together 16 partners from across Europe to advance energy-efficient supercomputing and reinforce Europe’s commitment to sustainability.

In the SEANERGYS project LRZ is leading the activities for „Monitoring Infrastructure“, that will develop and implement a comprehensive monitoring infrastructure (CMI) for the holistic monitoring of HPC data centres, encompassing all domains of HPC centre operations: system hardware, system software, applications, and supporting infrastructure.

Furthermore, LRZ is involved in dissemination and communication, contributes to the Data Analytics Framework, and provides research and technology infrastructure.
