Computing mit Licht
Auf photonischem Computing ruhen viele Hoffnungen, insbesondere, wenn es um Anwendungen der Künstlichen Intelliugenz (KI) geht: Photonische Systeme wie die von Q.ANT, die bereits am LRZ in Garching installiert wurden, senken den Energiebedarf bei Computer Vision. Auf der #SC25 können Sie die Technologie am LRZ testen.
HPC + Forschung = Kunst
Mit Hilfe von HPC wird aus Forschung Kunst – und ein Augenschmaus: Elisabeth Mayer vom Zentrum für Virtuelle Realität & Visualisierung (V2C) des LRZ präsentiert auf der #SC25 Art + HPC ihr Werk „Within the Marble“, das Erdgeschichte von Millionen Jahren im Zeitraffer zeigt und Daten aus der Geophysik mit filmischen Mitteln veranschaulicht.
Ansichten einer Turbulenz
Eine internationale Forschungsgruppe berechnete und visualisierte mit dem SuperMUC-NG die bisher größten und detailreichsten Simulationen von Magnetismus und Turbulenz im interstellaren Medium. Die Bilder vertiefen das Wissen um die Geburt von Sternen und erklären das Verhalten von Teilchenströmen und Magnetfeldern.
