LRZ: From Supercomputing to Virtual Worlds
We’re opening our doors: to the Maus, to children and adults, and, of course, to IT enthusiasts of all ages. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 3 at the Leibniz Computing Center (LRZ), you can see innovative quantum computers, powerful AI systems, and massive supercomputers, as well as storage archives and data libraries.
Immerse yourself in the world of research and science: be surprised by simulations and visualizations in 3D. Move through blood vessels, walk through palaces, or travel into the interior of the Earth, where streams of magma move continents. Experience virtual reality live or take apart a computer and see what happens inside.
Our program at a glance
- Tours in the computer building for kids and for adults, also in English (registration required)
- Demos at the Center for Virtual Reality and Visualization (V2C) at LRZ (registration required)
- Talks in the LRZ lecture hall, throughout the day & always on the hour, some in English
- Hands-on area with programming, painting, crafting, and quiz games
- Information and experiment booth
