Grid Solution for Wide Area Computing and Data Handling

The LRZ is hosting the GIIS (Grid Index Informations Server) for all participating German Sites. In the context of the recent ATLAS Data challenge, 1245 jobs were running at the LRZ with an efficiency of 60 percent (for comparison: Nordugrid as a whole ca. 60 percent, LCG approx. 40 percent.
