Introduction to LRZ Machine Learning Tools

Contents: In this introductory course we will give an overview of the hardware and software services provided by the Leibniz Supercomputing Center (LRZ) with a focus on machine learning tools and applications.
Designed as a combination of lectures and hands-on sessions, participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently utilize the LRZ supercomputing and cloud infrastructure for their own machine learning projects.

Schedule (tentative)

0900-0945 Introduction to GNU/Linux
0945-1030 Using SSH to log into remote machines

1100-1230 Overview of LRZ ressources: high performance computing systems and software services

1330-1530 Hands-on sessions (I): High performance computing systems

1600-1800 Hands-on sessions (II): Cloud services

Participants with good prior knowledge and experience in GNU/Linux and SSH may skip the first part and join at 1100am (please inform Dr. Johannes Albert-von der Gönna if you registered for the course and plan to join late).
All participants are expected to bring their own laptops.
