With the Belle II detector we measure particles produced in e+e- collisions at the SuperKEKB accelerator in Tsukuba, Japan. The aim is to understand the fundamental building block of matter and their interactions. The innermost detector component is the Pixel Vertex Detector (PXD) consisting of 40 sensors with 250x768 pixels each. Besides the signals from the particles produced in the collision the sensors record signals from background particles. This background has to be included in simulations of the detector. Because of the huge number of pixels a pre-simulation (or pre-recording) of background data and storage for overlay with the simulated signals from particles of interest does not scale to the amount of simulation required for the analysis of Belle II data. To solve this problem we train generative adverserial networks to produce PXD background data. First promising results were obtained for a single sensor. A next step is to extend this to the full PXD of 40 sensors.
