We investigate the molecular diversity of AM fungi by deep-sequencing (454GS-FLX Titanium pyrosequencing approaches). This is needed to uncover possible functional preferences in plant-fungus associations and important for the understanding and identification of compatible, suited plant-fungus combinations for future sustainable agricultural management systems, which must make use of the highly efficient AM pathway for nutrient uptake. --- Structural characterisation of protein kinase A from Trypanosoma brucei: testing the docking of different ligands to this protein after solving the crystal strucutre of this kinase. --- A 10 ns trajectory of a Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation of the coiled coil region (~20000 atoms, 268 computing hours) of interest showed two different ensembles in terms of DeltaG energy based on a principal component analysis. Different ensembles of the protein could be associated to conformation changes that could mediate in characteristics such as hetero/homodimerization or parallel/antiparallel dimerization of the coiled coil domain. The identification of the binding sites of a certain protein (a transcription-factor) in the genome of Lotus japonicous plant within the context of the symbiosis between plant roots and rhizobia. The Linux environment will help us to map, very efficiently, DNA sequences related with my protein in the reference genome.
