Abstract:

The statistical analysis of high-throughput Mass Spectrometry (MS) data. Our lab is focused on applying mass spectrometry to study the molecular mechanisms of virus infection and innate immune response. The typical MS data set contains the measurements of protein concentration in varying conditions (10-500 experiments) for 2000-8000 proteins. We apply advanced Bayesian statistical models to identify the patterns of interest in our MS data. Each protein is analyzed separately, i.e. 1 protein = 1 cluster job. The running times depend on the data complexity and the nature of the model. It can vary from 5-10 mins to 12 hours. Typically we analyse 5-10 MS data sets per month.
