Abstract
In this grant proposal we will make use of recent advances inauxiliary field Quantum Monte Carlo simulations to investigate anumber of fundamental issues in the field of correlated electronsystems. In particular, we will tackle issues in the domains ofentanglement spectra and Hamiltonian, classification of symmetryprotected topological states as well as of exotic quantum phasetransitions. All three subjects should be seen as grand challenges,for which a substantial amount of CPU resources are needed to securesuccess. The projects are based on our recently developed generalauxiliary field Quantum Monte Carlo code. The code relies heavilyon BLAS, and performs very well in an OpenMP/MPI hybrid environment.
