Abstract
Dense 3D Lagrangian particle tracking using “Shake-The-Box” and Navier-Stokes regularized velocity gradient tensor data assimilation using “FlowFit” for evaluation and analysis of canonical turbulent flow experiments at high Reynolds numbers. Large data sets of short and long sequences of time-resolved particle images gained by multiple camera projections during several turbulent flow experiments have been collected. Several experiments have been performed: on a transonic free turbulent jet with round and chevron nozzle at Ma = 0.87 and Ma = 0.5, on a ZPG turbulent boundary layer flow up to Re_theta = 18000 and on homogenous isotropic turbulence at Re_lambda up to 650.
