Abstract
DNS are a great tool for noise prediction, but the computational requirements makes it unfeasible for high Reynolds numbers. LES gives good results with a reasonable computational cost for non aeroacoustic applications. The main objective is to perform both types of simulations in a supersonic jet case for a Reynolds number of about 15000, thus resolving the shear layer, and compare the resuzlts in terms of the statistics in order to validate the LES SGS implemented by means of recycling nozzle, having a complete turbulent velocity profile in the inlet boundary conditions of the jet domain.
