Event Announcement:

ANSYS/CADFEM Simulation Day @ LRZ:
Multiphysics Simulation with ANSYS Software at LRZ / TU Munich & LMU & Hochschule München (HM)

The ANSYS Simulation Day of CADFEM and ANSYS Academic Teams at the Leibniz Center of Supcomputing (LRZ), Garching will outline current possibilities of scientific simulation with the ANSYS Software Suite in teaching and research.
In addition to an overview of the ANSYS software, LRZ will provide detailed information on provided ANSYS licensing options from the ANSYS Academic Research & Teaching Campus License hold by LRZ and the vast High-Performance Computing (HPC) capabilities using the ANSYS software for engineering simulation, analysis and postprocessing provided by LRZ to all members and students from TUM, LMU and HM without additional costs. ANSYS user application cases from TUM will be presented on selected topics.
In the 2nd half of the ANSYS Simulation Day a hands-on session will demonstrate the capabilities of ANSYS Discovery Live for the aim of teaching of engineering simulation and (coupled) CFD/Mechanical/EM analysis.

In an extended Q&A session participants will have the opportunity to raise all there questions regarding the usage and future development of the ANSYS software as well as present & future HPC capabilities at LRZ and provided ANSYS user support.
A more detailed agenda of the ANSYS Simulation Day will be provided at a later moment in time.

Who should attend?

This event is aimed at professors, research assistants, students and guests from the Munich university environment of TUM, LMU, HM, BAdW and associated university and reseaerch instituts. Participants being interested in the ANSYS software portfolio should have a technical background. Explicit previous knowledge of the ANSYS software is not necessary.

Should I register for this event in advance?

Participants who intend to participate in this event in presence are kindly asked (for organizational reasons) to informally register via email to Thomas.Frank@lrz.de.

Only previously registered participants will be permitted for participation in the organized tour to the LRZ Data Center and SuperMUC-NG, taking place from 4:00pm - 5:00pm. Participants in this tour to the LRZ Data Center must bring a valid picture ID (German Personalausweis or passport) for their identification.

In case of particular technical questions regarding ANSYS software licensing, LRZ HPC systems as well as the usage of the ANSYS software in teaching and research it is recommended to send those questions in advance to the given email address as well, in order to allow the ANSYS / CADFEM representatives to consult their technical staff for comprehensive answers.
