PQMethod Download Page for Windows Users

Current release is 2.20 for MS-DOS (Dec-2011) - Because Windows versions after XP do not allow to run the PQROT part of the software, the PQMethod distribution package is bundled now together with the free DOS emulator DOSBox.

What's new in 2.20?

The standard installation now runs PQMethod within DOSBox, and there is no automatic install procedure at the moment.
The "exact" factor scores (á la SPSS) are provided now in addition to the factor scores typically used in Q Methodology.
Clean-up of table headings

Current version of the PQManual (2011-Dec-23)

Install directions:

Download and unzip the pqm220win.zip, and copy (drag & drop) the resulting folder PQMethod to your c: drive.
Alternatively you can install PQMethod at another location, but in this case you must adjust properties of ready-made lnk files.
If you have installed a former version of PQMethod in c:\pqmethod\ already, my recommendation simply is to backup the existing folder by renaming it.
In case you don't have US keyboard and character set:

Open the dosbox.conf in folder c:\PQMethod\DOSBox\ with your favorite editor, and search for the command

keyb us

near the end of the file. Change the US to GR, FR, SP, NL, etc. for German, French, Spanish, Dutch, etc. keyboard layout. For details, e.g. about more exotic languages, see the DOSBox manual.

Copy the ready-made link PQMethod_within_DOSBox (with yellow-Q icon) from your c:\PQMethod folder to your desktop.
Don't forget to consult the PQManual.htm in your c:\PQMethod folder.

Running PQMethod

If everything is set up alright, then after double-clicking the yellow-Q PQMethod_within_DOSBox link, the DOSBox application will be started and a window will open with instructions on what to type at the command prompt to start PQMethod with an existing or new project.

To end and close DOSBox after leaving PQMethod, enter

exit

at the command prompt.

Additional option for Windows versions XP and below

For running PQMethod and its add-on PQROT under XP, NT, and 9.x., DOSBox is not required. You can copy the ready-made link PQMethod_XP to your desktop for running PQMethod without DOSBox.
