(German version)

The Fifth International Conference of the Society for Emblem Studies has taken place from August 9th to August 14th, 1999 in the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich (an outline timetable with the full programme can be viewed here). The proceedings appeared in the 'Mikrokosmos' series at Peter Lang Publishing Group: Wolfgang Harms / Dietmar Peil (eds.), Polyvalenz und Multifunktionalität der Emblematik. Frankfurt/M. et al. 2002 (ISBN 3-631-36137-8; US-ISBN 0-8204-5499-0).

The coordinators of the conference arranged an exhibition of emblem books called 'SinnBilderWelten' in cooperation with the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.
The catalogue of the exhibition is available at the Institut für Deutsche Philologie (postal adress, fax and e-mail below; at hands of Mrs Femmig; form available as pdf file).

Also available at the Institut für Deutsche Philologie is an illustrated book about emblems in the Dresden "Kügelgenhaus".

In the context of this exhibition a List of Emblem Books in Munich Libraries has been compiled which is downloadable from this site (as doc file, last modified 03-12-2007).
